
The Blue Siytangco Taiji Kungfu Academy at Oriental Phoenix Arts offers a complete martial arts program for all age groups and athletic abilities. Our curriculum provides comprehensive instruction in Chen Style Taijiquan, an ancient, battle tested system that develops the whole person. Along with learning the four combat elements of Ti (kicking & leg techniques), Da (striking and hand techniques), Shuai (grappling, wrestling, throwing), and Na (joint locking), students will also study weapons training, meditation, qigong, Chinese philosophy, culture, and martial ethics. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in light to full contact sparring, compete in national and international tournaments, and travel to China to visit and train in Chenjiagou, the ancestral home of Chen Style Taijiquan.
For centuries, the Chinese have used taiji, not only for its martial efficacy, but also for its many health benefits. Numerous studies have shown the powerful healing effects it has on the practitioner’s mind and body.
You may be thinking, “Isn’t taiji just for old people?” Absolutely NOT! Chen style taijiquan has something to offer EVERY age group.
